Welcome to Easy Change Locksmiths. This document outlines the terms, conditions, and policies governing the use of our website and services. By accessing or using our website, you agree to the terms laid out in this document.

Who this policy covers

Easy Change Locksmiths, a mobile locksmith operating across Melbourne's east and the Frankston south-east. Phone 03 4821 3333, email info@easychangelocksmiths.com. This policy sets out how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We are a Service Area Business and publish no street address.

What we collect, and nothing beyond it

Your name, a contact number, an email address if you give one, the address the work is at, what you have asked us to do, and the evidence that you are entitled to have it done. That is the complete list. We do not collect sensitive information as the Privacy Act defines it, and we do not ask for information we have no use for.

Proof of entitlement, and why we keep a note of it

We will not open a lock, a safe or a vehicle until we are satisfied the person asking is entitled to. That means sighting identification, a tenancy agreement, addressed mail or equivalent evidence, and recording that the check happened. We record that it was done and what satisfied us. We do not keep photocopies or scans of identity documents. This protects you on every day you are not standing in front of us.

What we use it for

Quoting, scheduling and attending your job, invoicing it, meeting the record-keeping obligations that apply to locksmith work in Victoria, and answering you if you contact us later about the same job. We do not sell personal information. We do not pass it to third parties for their marketing, and we do not build profiles for advertising.

Security work is confidential by nature

A record that a particular address has a particular lock, a master key system or a safe is sensitive in the ordinary sense even where the Act does not classify it that way. Job records are held in access-controlled systems, kept for as long as our insurance and licensing obligations require, and then disposed of.

Who else ever sees it

The technician attending your job. Our payment processor, for the transaction only. Our insurer or lawyers if a claim arises from the work. Police or a regulator where the law compels us. Nobody else.

Cookies and site analytics

This website may set cookies to remember display preferences and to count which pages get used. You can refuse them in your browser and the site will still work. We do not use cookies to identify you personally.

Your rights, and where to go if we get it wrong

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or complain about how we have handled it. Contact 03 4821 3333 or info@easychangelocksmiths.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. If our answer does not satisfy you, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes privacy complaints at oaic.gov.au, and you do not need our permission to go to them.
